With technical excellence, practical solutions, and genuine care, we help municipalities, developers, and communities move projects forward with confidence. For us, engineering isn't just about drawings — it's about building something that makes a real difference.
Making a Real Difference
Our Mission
To strengthen communities and give our clients confidence by delivering thoughtful, dependable engineering solutions that solve real challenges and create lasting value.
Our Vision
To serve people well—our clients, our team, and our communities—while building lasting relationships and creating a positive impact through the work we do.
Our History
E3's roots trace back to a respected Dallas, Georgia engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and land development. Our leadership team built on that foundation, gaining experience in engineering and consulting across both the public and private sectors. Today, we carry that legacy forward — delivering infrastructure with technical excellence, trusted relationships, and a focus on lasting community benefit.
Meet Our Team
John Payne, PE
Principal
John is a professional engineer specializing in land development, with expertise in stormwater management, project management, and utility infrastructure. Over nearly a decade he has guided projects from concept through completion, helping communities, developers, and municipalities bring their plans to life.
His approach is collaborative and practical. John works directly with clients and project teams to find solutions that balance technical precision against real-world constraints — budget, schedule, and what a jurisdiction will actually approve. His work is grounded in the belief that civil engineering is more than design: it is about creating reliable infrastructure that serves people today and leaves a lasting legacy for tomorrow.
John earned his engineering degree from Auburn University and remains a committed Auburn football fan. Outside of work, he spends his time with family and on the golf course.
Yanni Spanoudakis, PE
Principal
Yanni Spanoudakis is a Principal at E3 & Company. He started in civil engineering in 2018 at a firm in Dallas, Georgia, worked on municipal water and sewer projects, and then spent 18 months running engineering and stormwater services for the City of Powder Springs before joining E3 full time in February 2026.
Powder Springs is where he learned the job from the other side of the counter. He reviewed LDP plans, hydrology reports, stormwater as-builts, and final plats, and he ran the city's stormwater repairs start to finish: pick the fix, find the money, hire the contractor, take it to council, inspect it, write the punchlist. That is why people bring him code questions. Half of reading a code is working out what it was actually trying to accomplish.
At E3 he checks the civil plans and hydrology reports before they go out, works on proposals, and still serves the City of Powder Springs. He is a licensed PE in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. Most Saturdays he is coaching one of his three sons' little league teams, and he will be watching the Florida game that evening.
Roberto Hernandez, EIT
Senior Engineering Associate
Roberto Hernandez is a Senior Engineering Associate at E3. He liked math and science as a kid and wanted to work on things that get built, so civil engineering was the fit. Five years in, he designs sites in Civil 3D, runs the hydrology, and produces the construction plans and ES&PC packages that go with them. He wants to be running projects end to end.
Elijah Mariano
Engineering Intern
Elijah Mariano is an engineering intern at E3 and a student at Kennesaw State. He spends most of his time in Civil 3D producing erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control plans and on-site septic layouts. Grading is the part of the work he has taken to fastest, and improper CAD layers are the thing he cannot stand.
Denise Botts
Administrative Assistant
Denise Botts is the Administrative Assistant at E3 & Company, where she handles bookkeeping and general office administration. She has worked in engineering offices since 2005, and before that spent 21 years with local government. She came into the industry when the county engineer she worked for left to start his own firm and she followed. She has lived in the Atlanta area for her whole life.
Start Your Project
Every great project starts with a conversation. At E3, we partner with communities, developers, and utility providers to bring ideas to life through practical, reliable engineering.
